    That stuff Marlon was on about acting. It's psychology. Everyone wears a "mask" in different situations and is normal. He was spot on.

    I liked Marlon as an actor.....but he didn't half intentionally make interviews as awkward as he possibly could. :/

    I did not know this until I was older, but my grandmother was a housekeeper early in her life (late 30s) and the family she work for call her Lydia, although her name was Angela. Why? No clue!!

    Thank you, Mr Allen. I've seen 'The Seventh Seal' three times and... nothing. Since you choose that as No. 1, shall give it a fourth try. My favourite of Mr Allen's films, and the only one I've watched more than once, is 'Interiors'.

    He was such a smart man. His words about acting … “… it’s a survival mechanism … it’s a such a social unguent, a lubricant, and we act to save our lives every day …” This is so true, in fact. We all act, every day.

    Well he's aware others are "acting" so he distrusts them to an extent and their potential to perhaps attempt to manipulate reactions and performances from others including himself. He figures he's not on a set he wants to be authentic and discuss "real" issues the host is on set though expected to improvise make jokes entertain his audience Marlon is just establishing some boundaries and expectations.

  • @annalisavajda252
    @annalisavajda252 4 месяца назад

    Well he seemed to want a teaching opportunity more than an entertaining one he ought to have done some documentary type movies maybe knowing what an audience draw he was and he liked to use his celebrity for that purpose.

  • @annalisavajda252
    @annalisavajda252 4 месяца назад

    Well it's 1973 and people didn't notice all the civil unrest the last two decades regarding free speech womens lib segregation etc? Brando is probably thinking where have you been do you think people are just complaining about nothing that they have not been oppressed?

  • @annalisavajda252
    @annalisavajda252 4 месяца назад

    Well it was just another example of how manipulative the Industry is and how narcissistic people are it was his award and his moment and people were furious he didn't show gratitude to the academy he rejected them instead he said oh you liked that performance did you well I don't like how you portray the natives he may not have liked the role of Godfather either he's not even Italian he's German Irish or something and that family were violent criminal gangsters anyway he's not that way himself didn't care to glorify it.

    This interview blows me away. Marlon's considered to be the best actor, by his peers, and yet, he doesn't consider it to be an art, but simply a profession.

    all this bullshit on the comments about Brando. Oh he had an Aura, oh he was one in a million. Yeh yeh, come on simpletons. He was just another actor, same skin and bone and breathed same air as all of us. Nothing different at all. He just found himself in the right place at the right time.

    They're talking about the south, not all of Italy. That's why starting in the 1950s there was a great migration from the south to the north. It's still poor today, a lot of the rural areas kept alive by money sent home.
